Acclaimed 8-Bit Horror 'Faith: The Unholy Trinity' Lands On Switch In October (2024)

Not for me, but happy for those interested and nice to see it getting a physical release, too!

This looks pretty slick. I love horror games, but I’m timid, so many modern horror games - particularly those with jump-scares or first-person perspectives - are tough for me to play. There has been a slew of non-traditional horror games on the Switch recently that have been perfect for me, and I hope this is another one!

I really like the look of this. Just in time for spooky season.

I'm really happy for Airdorf, he puts so much work into these creates incredible imagery despite the self-imposed graphic limitations. To have a physical as well? Def be tempted myself just to keep supporting.

@Smug43 there's some pretty interesting talks by the creator how he took videos of himself and drew over them to great the cutscenes. It's very effective in game.

I watched a streamer play through the whole thing some time ago now, horror games aren't usually my jam but I'm absolutely getting this one (and had only recently reminded myself a Switch version was going to be a thing, love the timing).

@Solomon_Rambling Could you make any suggestions of games you’ve liked? I never know what to try in terms of horror games these days, though the last one I really enjoyed was Remothered: Tormented Fathers (the first one in the series).

Oh boy, can't wait for the eventual Smash rep.

Nice to see Airdorf was able to get his great Trilogy onto the Switch.

Never heard of it and the trailer didn’t seem interesting. However these comments now have me curious. If it reviews well maybe I’ll get it.

I admittedly don’t have many! Little Goody Two Shoe, Ib, Signalis, Corpse Party, and World of Horror are on my wishlist. Although I think Amnesia is a good game, stealth horror creeps me out.

On Switch, I’ve enjoyed:

• both Little Nightmares (I prefer the second)
• Doki Doki Literature Club (which is more psychological horror)
• Paranormasight
• Return of the Obra Dinn (which has more horror elements than actual scares)
• Oxenfree
• Detention
• the Exit 8 (minor horror but started a recent trend of knock-offs)
• Iron Lung
• Paratopic

I’m much better with movies and books! If you have any recommendations, I’ll take them!

I CALLED IT! I knew back when I first heard of it to check the eShop, and when I didn't find it there I was like"it's only a matter of time this is perfect for Switch."

Elated to see I was right!

I wanted to like this game but I was not particularly impressed. I feel like when you're paying homage to older games, which I love visually, it shouldn't also be torturously boring and tedious to control. And then the sound design is probably one of the most off putting choices of any game I've ever played. Apparently they used real audio footage of some girl during the satanic scare too? I haven't verified that, but I found it annoying.

@Solomon_Rambling Wow, thanks for the reply. I’ll dig into this list when I have the chance! I enjoyed my play through of Oxenfree and the odd atmosphere and feel of Paratopic. I’ve been considering Little Nightmares for years…maybe it’s finally time to play it!

My daughter showed me some dude playing through it, and it's unintentionally funny.
